Price tells you what a player costs, not what he returns. The xP column is the one that matters: several £6.0m and £6.5m players out-project assets at twice the money in Gameweek 6, largely because the 2026/27 rules now pay defensive contribution points and have rebalanced bonus towards goalkeepers and full-backs.
Expected points are not FPL's ep_next field, which is floored at 1.0 and capped near 4.0 before a season starts and cannot rank players. Dugout builds them from a venue-split Poisson model of every fixture — separate home and away scoring records for each club — then splits each club's expected goals and assists between its players, and scores the result with FPL's real 2026/27 rules: goals by position, assists, clean sheets, goals conceded, saves, penalty duty, defensive contribution points and an estimate of bonus. Everything is weighted by expected minutes. Newly promoted clubs have no Premier League data, so their players are estimated and should be treated with caution.
